About Us
Health. Equity. Hope.
Our Mission is to Empower, Promote, and Inspire Wellness in East Tennessee.
Our Vision is a Future of
Health, Equity, and Hope.
The services Positively Living provides has an individual impact – the quality of life for our clients is vastly improved – but it also has a strong community impact throughout East Tennessee. In 2018 Positively Living, Inc. launched Choice Health Network medical clinic to serve a greater volume of clients in new, innovative ways. In addition to medical care, our services now include food and transportation support, mental health counseling and therapy, HIV and HCV testing and treatment, pharmacy services, peer support and telehealth, and HIV prevention (PrEP and PEP). We believe a city is better when all its citizens have a chance to be healthy, active contributors.
Positively Living
Positively Living, Inc. was established in 1996 by a few dedicated individuals and a $25,000 start-up grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to assist in the care of those living with HIV and AIDS.
Today, Positively Living operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving East Tennessee’s most vulnerable populations: individuals and families struggling to survive the challenges created by HIV, addiction, homelessness, mental illness, and disabilities. The majority of our clients are also living with the effects of serious trauma. As a result, we utilize a Trauma-Informed Care Model, which recognizes that trauma-impacted persons require tailored services to meet their individual needs.
Our mission is to provide compassionate care to empower, promote, and inspire wellness. We achieve this by providing medical care, advocacy, counseling, housing, and case management services, and by addressing the needs of each client individually, with dignity and respect. Today we have over 40 staff in three cities across the state, and a budget of nearly $6 million.
