About Our Mental Health Services

Choice Health Network offers no-cost individual and group therapy for those living with HIV/AIDS. We strive to create a safe, judgement-free, respectful environment where you can find support and healing.

Our licensed therapists understand that your history and environment impact your mental health. Our team is sensitive to the specific needs of people living with HIV, disabilities, those who identify as LGBTQ+, and people of color. We use a variety of approaches and techniques in our counseling to find what will work best for each individual client. We emphasize the importance of a strong therapeutic relationship between the client and therapist and believe that this relationship is the foundation for change.

Mental health services are available by appointment only. To receive a mental health referral, please speak with your provider at Positively Living or Choice Health Network.

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Trauma and PTSD
  • Developing coping and stress management skills

What to Expect

Your initial appointment is scheduled for two hours and includes a comprehensive assessment to understand your unique needs. You and your therapist will talk about what mental health services you might benefit from, and work together to create goals and to develop a meeting schedule. If needed, your therapist can also make referrals and help connect you with other providers and community agencies.

The State of Tennessee’s decision to not accept federal funding for HIV prevention services came as a surprise to us and similar organizations. While we remain hopeful for a resolution, as things stand now, our contract to provide these services will end May 31, 2023. Our team is exploring ways to ensure that these important services will remain available in our community and will keep you apprised of those efforts.

Ryan White and HOPWA services, along with our medical clinic, are not affected by this decision.

In late 2022, Positively Living/Choice Health Network was named an HIV/AIDS Center of Excellence – validating the quality of care we provide the community. All of our services continue uninterrupted, and our locations across the state are open.

Thank you for trusting us with your care. Together, we will keep working toward a future of health, equity and hope.
