A message to our clients regarding COVID-19

May 4, 2020

COVID-19 Policy

Beginning on May 4, 2020 we will begin a phased reopening of seeing clients and patients in the office.
To ensure the continued health and safety of our clients and staff, we will be following these strict guidelines for all in-person interactions likely until there is an approved COVID-19 vaccine.

Masks – Any person arriving for an office visit will be asked to wear a mask. NO EXCEPTIONS. Staff will also be wearing masks.

Visitors – All visitors accompanying a client/patient will be asked to wait outside unless they are language interpreters or other support personnel.

Symptom Screening – All client/patients will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms upon scheduling AND upon arrival for an in-person visit. Upon arrival, all persons will have their temperature taken. Any person who has experienced symptoms in the last 14 days should continue to shelter in place, will continue to receive care via telehealth and phone, and will be referred for further medical evaluation and/or COVID-19 testing.

Symptoms include:

  • Fever of 100.4 or higher
  • Dry cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Chills or shaking
  • Sore throat
  • Headache
  • Sudden loss of taste or smell
  • Contact with someone who has or may have had COVID-19

Disinfecting – All spaces will be disinfected immediately following any appointments using appropriate cleaner on all surfaces.

Additional Medical Clinic Guidelines – For the safety of our patients, only providers can request and determine if a patient can be seen for an in-person appointment or lab work at this time. If you would like to make an appointment, please call (865) 525-1540. If you do not get to speak with a staff member immediately, please leave a message and your call will be returned as soon as possible. Only one patient will be permitted inside our medical clinic at a time.

Harm Reduction – This program is continuing to offer services, including naloxone access, by appointment. To make an appointment, call or text (865) 208-7356. Harm Reduction staff will be on hand Monday-Friday from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, but are experiencing an increased call volume. If you do not immediately get through, leave a message and someone will return your call within 24 hours.

If you are a client of ours and your circumstances have been affected by COVID-19, please know that you never have to go without medical care or medication. Please contact us at (865) 525-1540 to learn about accessing medical care and medications for free through our clinic.

We remain committed to working toward a future of health, equity, and hope. We encourage everyone to continue practicing social distancing, and look forward to seeing you again soon.
