On Jan. 12, Choice Health Network is celebrating National Pharmacist Day to honor its dedicated pharmacy team and raise awareness of the critical role its pharmacy plays in supporting HIV care and prevention services.
At the heart of this effort are the skilled and compassionate pharmacy staff:
- Dr. Doug Poff, Pharmacist in Charge, brings nearly 40 years of experience.
- Gayle Friedle, Registered Pharmacist and PRN, contributes nearly 35 years of experience.
- Brandlin Fields, Certified Pharmacy Technician, has 12 years of experience.
“Our pharmacy team stands on the front lines of high-quality healthcare and embodies our mission to provide Health, Equity and Hope,” said Steve Jenkins, CEO of Positively Living & Choice Health Network. “On National Pharmacist Day, we proudly recognize Doug, Gayle and Brandlin for their unwavering commitment to serving the most vulnerable members of our communities and ensuring patient-centered pharmacy services.”
Choice Health Network now owns and operates its pharmacy, enhancing its ability to provide comprehensive, client-centered care for those living with HIV and at risk of HIV.
The Knoxville-based pharmacy serves clients across Knoxville, Chattanooga, Cookeville and Memphis, offering a vital resource for those living with HIV and for prevention services. The pharmacy also welcomes community members looking to support the nonprofit’s mission by using its services.
The pharmacy accepts most major insurance plans and assists patients with limited means in accessing medication through copay assistance programs. It also provides low- or no-cost access to pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP), key tools in preventing HIV transmission.
“Our pharmacy is more than a place to fill prescriptions; it’s a cornerstone of our comprehensive care model,” Jenkins said.
By choosing Choice Health Network Pharmacy, community members can directly support lifesaving HIV care and prevention programs while accessing high-quality pharmacy services.
