Thankful for you (and Ailor Ave!!)

Nov 22, 2021

After purchasing the former Lisa Ross Birthing Center in 2019 to accommodate our rapidly expanding programs, we settled into a long road of renovations throughout 2020 and 2021. The road has not been easy, but we are thrilled to formally announce the opening of our new Positively Living & Choice Health Network headquarters at 1925 Ailor Avenue in Knoxville!

It is because of YOU, our community, that we have been able to grow and fill the role of East Tennessee’s premier public health not-for-profit. When we launched Choice Health Network in 2018, we had no idea that in less than three years’ time, we would triple the number of people we serve to 6,000 individuals and families.

Our new facility on Ailor Ave. has a private parking lot off of Citico Street and is on the bus line to help accommodate our clients who have unstable access to transportation. Its two floors houses our three programmatic pillars: a medical clinic that provides HIV-prevention, testing, treatment, and telehealth; a Client Services program that provides mental healthcare, therapy, and food, housing, and transportation aid; a Harm Reduction program that provides supportive services to our neighbors struggling with substance use; and a full-service pharmacy that truly allows us to be a one-stop-shop for care.

We give thanks to you, our community, for uplifting our vision of health, equity, and hope. And we give thanks to our dedicated staff, volunteers, donors, and most importantly, the people we serve, for partnering with us to empower, promote, and inspire wellness across Tennessee.

Happy Thanksgiving to your and your family.

The State of Tennessee’s decision to not accept federal funding for HIV prevention services came as a surprise to us and similar organizations. While we remain hopeful for a resolution, as things stand now, our contract to provide these services will end May 31, 2023. Our team is exploring ways to ensure that these important services will remain available in our community and will keep you apprised of those efforts.

Ryan White and HOPWA services, along with our medical clinic, are not affected by this decision.

In late 2022, Positively Living/Choice Health Network was named an HIV/AIDS Center of Excellence – validating the quality of care we provide the community. All of our services continue uninterrupted, and our locations across the state are open.

Thank you for trusting us with your care. Together, we will keep working toward a future of health, equity and hope.
