A message to our clients regarding COVID-19

COVID-19 Policy

To ensure the continued health and safety of our clients and staff, Positively Living & Choice Health Network programs and services are following these strict guidelines for all in-person interactions:

Masks – Any person arriving for an office visit will be asked to wear a mask. NO EXCEPTIONS. Staff will also be wearing masks.

Visitors – All visitors accompanying a client/patient will be asked to wait outside unless they are language interpreters or other support personnel.

Symptom Screening – All client/patients will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms upon scheduling AND upon arrival for an in-person visit. Upon arrival, all persons will have their temperature taken. Any person who has experienced symptoms in the last 14 days should continue to shelter in place, will continue to receive care via telehealth and phone, and will be referred for further medical evaluation and/or COVID-19 testing. Symptoms include:
Fever of 100.4 or higher
Dry cough
Shortness of breath
Difficulty breathing
Chills or shaking
Sore throat
Headache
Sudden loss of taste or smell
Contact with someone who has or may have had COVID-19

Disinfecting – All spaces will be disinfected immediately following any appointments using appropriate cleaner on all surfaces.

Harm Reduction – This program is continuing to offer services, including syringe exchange and naloxone access, by appointment. To make an appointment, call (865) 208-7356 and listen to the voicemail. Any program changes will be recorded on the voicemail. Harm Reduction staff will respond to messages within 24 hours Monday-Friday, but are experiencing an increased call/text volume. MASKS ARE REQUIRED to receive harm reduction services.

If you are a client of ours and your circumstances have been affected by COVID-19, please know that you never have to go without medical care or medication. Please contact us at (865) 525-1540 to learn about accessing medical care and medications for free through our clinic.

We remain committed to working toward a future of health, equity, and hope. We encourage everyone to continue practicing social distancing, and look forward to seeing you again soon.

The State of Tennessee’s decision to not accept federal funding for HIV prevention services came as a surprise to us and similar organizations. While we remain hopeful for a resolution, as things stand now, our contract to provide these services will end May 31, 2023. Our team is exploring ways to ensure that these important services will remain available in our community and will keep you apprised of those efforts.

Ryan White and HOPWA services, along with our medical clinic, are not affected by this decision.

In late 2022, Positively Living/Choice Health Network was named an HIV/AIDS Center of Excellence – validating the quality of care we provide the community. All of our services continue uninterrupted, and our locations across the state are open.

Thank you for trusting us with your care. Together, we will keep working toward a future of health, equity and hope.
