JOB TITLE: Recovery Navigator
STATUS: Full-time, hourly, non-exempt
COMPENSATION: $23.00 – $25.00 per hour
Note: Compensation based on factors including job duties, education and licensure levels,
experience, position autonomy, and supervisory responsibilities. Competitive benefits include

POSITION SUMMARY:
Choice Health Network (CHN)’s Recovery Navigator will work across the organization to provide
low-barrier counseling and linkage to care centered around the principles of harm reduction. The
Recovery Navigator will provide direct services (including working with participants of the syringe
services program (SSP), facilitate overdose prevention education, and work with local treatment and
recovery providers to build a network of referrals. This role will travel across the region to
provide services at CHN’s SSP sites.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES (including but subject to change):

  • Navigate to external services including local treatment and recovery programs.
  • Provide direct service for clients: syringe access, naloxone access and overdose prevention
    education.
  • Counseling and case management for clinical patients diagnosed with or at risk of developing
    substance use disorder (SUD), including patients engaged in medication for opioid use disorder
    (MOUD).
  • Provide one-on-one counseling sessions as appropriate with clients.
  • Navigate to internal services, case management support, and treatment team collaboration as
    needed with clients engaged in other CHN programming.
  • Present on programming, counseling, and interventions at local, regional, and state
    level.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • The ability to effectively communicate as part of a team, as well as work
    independently.
  • Open-minded and comfortable providing services through a harm reduction framework.
  • Computer and technology literate (comfortable with regular Word and Excel use).
  • Ability to concisely document client interactions and coordinate care with an electronic medical
    record system.
  • Must be able to move 50 lb boxes and operate a cargo vehicle (no CDL needed).
  • Ability to follow state and federal regulations to protect the privacy of all clients.
  • The ability to set firm boundaries and practice assertive communication.
  • The ability to work with personnel across the organization including social workers, medical
    providers, and administrative staff.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a social services field
  • Recovery and/or counseling certification(s) preferred
  • Experience providing harm reduction services preferred
  • People with lived experience encouraged to apply
